To get the weekend started off right, I celebrated with a little bit of this:
(Plus a few beers).
Two skeins of Cherry Tree Hill Super Sock yarn in ‘Old Rose’ and ‘Spring Frost.’ Ewe & I got in two big bags of the stuff the other day, and after sticking price stickers on the labels, I couldn’t resist buying some. Side note: Did I mention that I work there now? Well, yes, yes I do. Stop in and say ‘hey’ if you’re ever in Narberth. And then I’ll direct you to the French Patisserie for some raspberry cookies.
I think these skeins are the beginnings of Christmas knitting, which will finally give me something new to blog about! Imagine! I could even return to bi-weekly posts, with substance
In related news:
301 hexagons down, 87 more to go. So. Almost. There.
I’m off to Lancaster county to celebrate my nation’s birth with the oldest 4th of July celebration in the country. Please, vote for me, Dulle Griet, for Lititz’s Queen of Candles ‘08! Happy holiday, for those of you who celebrate it, and happy weekend, for those of you who don’t.

Meg, you are making me cry…there’s a yarn store AND a patisserie in Narberth??? as in Narberth, PA???
I used to live at 237 Forest Ave, 2 blocks up from the main drag. believe me, there was NO yarn store…heh. just the two pubs, the Castle and the other one and everyone went to their favorite and never the non-favorite. And the wonderful theater with 2nd run discount movies..is it still there?
woot! thanks for the news on Narberth and the trip down memory lane.
Happy Fourth!
You now work about 5 minutes from where my sister-in-law lives. So I’ll definitely be stopping by… I’ll give you some warning though.
Yay! I’m glad you bought some pretty yarn for yourself. Have a great fourth as well! I’ll have to visit you in Narbs one day, although I don’t need much more yarn now.
I must tell you, the Hexagon blanket is making me smile! I love the shape of it, how it’s becoming the size of the Pentagon or something. Ha ha (plus, I know the number of sides are different–nerd alert!)
Hope to see you around soon
All I can say is thank heavens my hexagon blanket is for my parents, otherwise I would sooooooo be tempted to super-size it. It is looking absolutely incredible!!!!! Want to trade?
Looks like I won’t have to bully Marissa into a trip to the burbs
Happy 4th!!
The blanket is coming along so nicely! Awesome!
How on earth will you block that!? It’s beautiful.

I can’t believe what I’m seeing. That is an absolutely stunning blanket and it’s HUGE! Thank you for sharing the pattern with us. I can’t wait to get the PDF when you are done.
Most Excellent Job!
I was JUST there in lancaster visiting matt’s family. Aww that’s awesome you’re working at a yarn store now. I haven’t yet been to Ewe & I but I might make a trip up there on one of my off days. I got a skein of cherry tree hill. Lemme know your experiences with it, if it pools on you.
Someday I’ll start that blanket.
LOVE IT! I just ordered some Silk Garden in #87 in the Rainbow colorway. No getting bored with this colorway. Do you have any idea how you’ll treat the edges? Single crochet rows? Picot? Stitches picked up and garter stitched? I’ll start it next week and post it on Ravelry where I’m Catznknitz.
Thanks for this tutorial and the pattern (when it comes).
It’s turned out lovely!! How many skeins do you think you ended up using? My hubby decided to pick a discontinued color! So I’m thinking I need to go ahead and order more before it’s all gone
